Cultural Crossroads, Inc., with Professional Athletes Supporting Students, presented Significant Young Voices: Meet the Poets at the Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library. The free program featured Baton Rouge poets and authors Samia White, Antione Lacey, and Lakeisha Dominique Sims in an evening of poetry, conversation, and community.

Samia White shared from Deeply Rooted: A Young Poet’s Testimony, her debut collection blending poetry and short fiction while exploring grief, faith, identity, growth, and grace.

Antione Lacey, author of The Dream Catcher: Food for Thought, brought his experience as a poet, photographer, designer, cinematographer, and creative educator.

Lakeisha Dominique Sims shared her work as a Louisiana poet and author whose writing reflects perseverance, faith, personal development, and determination. Sims has also received two Editor’s Choice Awards for her literary work.

Approximately 75 people attended the program, creating an evening that celebrated emerging voices, local literature, and the power of artistic expression.
