Cultural Crossroads, Inc., in partnership with The Links, Incorporated, Baton Rouge (LA) Chapter, presented Significant Voices featuring Naomi DeBerry, author of My Daddy Needs a Gift and one of TIME’s 2025 Girls of the Year.

Naomi shared the story behind her children’s book, inspired by her family’s experience when her father needed a kidney transplant. The program included a book reading, conversation with the author, and book signing for 10th- and 11th-grade students. Through her story, Naomi encouraged literacy, organ donation awareness, and young people to recognize the power of their voices.
